The Periyar Institute
of Distance Education (PRIDE) was established in 2001-2002 to serve the
scholars population and offers inter alia, Under- Graduate and Diploma, Post
Graduate and Graduate Diploma and Certificate Courses. In 2007 Periyar
University was approved as four Star / B+ hierarchic University by NAAC and
additionally its Distance Education has been approved by Distance Education

Periyar University,
Salem (Tamilunadu) was established in year 1997 in memory of PERIYAR

Century, by an Act of Tamilnadu State legislature (Act No. 45-97) in exercise
of the powers given by section 33 read with sub section (4) of section 57 of

act, 1956 vide notification No. F9-1I98/(CPP-I) dated 16-12-1998 and confirmed

Sikkim Manipal
